The new Technology & Design Department was
officially opened in June 2007 offering a range
to modern facilities & equipment. The department
consists to 2 planning rooms, 2 manufacturing
workshops, a number of stores and a large foyer
& display area.
Pupils have the opportunity to use these new
facilities to develop their design & technology
skills throughout KS3, GCSE & A Level. Planning
rooms are fully equipped with a large number of
high speed computers allowing pupils to use CAD
software which can then be used to control a CNC
laser and router to manufacture their designs. The
range of up-to-date equipment and machinery has
allowed the department to expand to offer GCSE
Manufacturing and AS/A2 Resistant Materials: Product
Design courses.
